Textiles, molded products, coating films, and paints made from acetate cellulose have strong resistance to sunlight (especially ultraviolet rays), allowing them to be used for extended periods without easy degradation.
It is flame-resistant, with a high melting point that causes it to melt and carbonize at 230-300°C.
It exhibits good chemical resistance, unaffected by organic and inorganic weak acids, animal and vegetable oils, and gasoline.
With low electrical conductivity and high internal and external resistance, it serves as an excellent insulating material.

Cellulose acetate is a biomass material made from wood pulp and cotton; specifically, it comprises plant-based cellulose materials chemically modified with acetic acid. It is used in fibers, films, plastics, and a wide variety of other applications. This material is manufactured only by Daicel Corporation in Japan.
In order to meet the needs of textile industry, Daicel has established the following "Pulp Procurement Policy" to use wood pulp in the production of cellulose acetate, which is supplied as a raw material for Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation's triacetate fiber "Soalon™," and engages in responsible procurement.
